Guido:

e altri sopportano tutte le miserie
and others bear all calamities
yatra na anyat pashyati
where we cannot see each other

but eugenio said:
if someone dies,
it doesn't matter to anybody,
provided that he's far and unknown

immortalia ne speres
monet annus

do not hope for immortal things,
horace whispers

Adele:

Hatred will never let you face
the beast in man,
in this saha world of dukkha,
tragic with suffering,
but if you die with karuna
you are a torch to light the way.

Life is a process of burning:
the eyes are burning,
the nose is burning,
the body is burning
with tinh, khi and thân,
the three sources of energy.

When Sister Nhat Chi Mai
immolated herself in Vietnam
she recorded a poem for her parents:

"Even as they strike you down
with a mountain of hatred and violence
like a worm,
even as they dismember and disembowel you,
remember brother, remember,
man is not our enemy."
